Coraline

Coraline Coraline by Neil Gaiman

Genre: Supernatural

Age: MG

POV: third person

Summary: Coraline loves to explore outside her new house. When the weather hinders her exculpation. Coraline become bore from being inside all day and grows curious of what behind the drawing room door. Breaks separate the two flats or another world?

Review: Better then what I remember. Coraline is clever and learns to be brave in the face of danger. The movie feels like it has more world building and showcasing this other world. Leading to more tension when Coraline refuels to stay.
The writing style is different compare to Gaiman's adult works. I can't explain what but, the writing does feel simplify.

Points:

Characters: 5/5

Plot: 5/5 - I like how the ghosts kids subplot doesn't make the 'can't pass on because of unfinished biasness' trope not up in your face.

Writing: 3/5

Total: 13/20
