Safety Not Guaranteed movie review

Genre: Romance

Rated: R - languages

Year Release: 2012

Director: Colin Trevorrow

Summary: An ad shows up in the newspaper looking for someone to travel in time with them. Safety no guaranteed, bring your own weapon. Some journalists set out to find if this time machine is for real.

A cute little film. the time travel is push to the background. The whole movie focus on the relationship between Darius (Aubrey Plaza) and Kenneth (Mark Duplass). There is a subplot of Jeff (Jake Johnson) going after his high school crush and trying to get Arnau (Karan Soni) to live a little.
The movie stays interesting by bringing up the question as to whether they really time travel or not.

Re-Watchable: Like I say this is a cute movie and it worth watching again.

Isn't Romantic movie review

Isn't It Romantic PosterGenre: Rom-con

Rated: PG-13

Year of Release: 2019

Director: Todd Strauss-Schulson

Summary: A young woman disenchanted with love mysteriously finds herself trapped inside a romantic comedy.

Review: The romantic comedy to end all romantic comedies. The whole movie pocks fun of rom-cons. This is a cute fun movie to watch. I not much of a fan of roman and anything I don't like that is put in a humorist spotlight. I going to be on board to make fun of it.

Isn't it Romantic is your averages rom-con where the girl tries to full in love. There are a few twist and a dance number or two.

Despite this not doing too well at the box office. (What movie are doing well besides superhero movies?) Isn't it Romantic is a good movie.
I didn't see this movie at the theater but, then again I been really picky of what movie I see at the movie theater.

Re-watchable: Every once in a blue moon perhaps.

Murder Mystery movie review

Genre: Mystery, Comedy

Rated: PG-13

Year of Release: 2019

Director: Kyle Newacheck

Summary: A New York cop and his wife go on a European vacation to reinvigorate the spark in their marriage, but end up getting framed and on the run for the death of an elderly billionaire.

Review: The comedy between Nick ( Adam Sandler ) and Audrey (Jennifer Aniston) is gold. They will be talking about who done it and then one of them will say some like "look at this wallpaper, it so gorgeous."
The movie does follow some mystery tropes with a humorist twist to them. There the subplot where the man in a relationship mess up something and lie about it. Seen like a lot of movies have it. Like woman can't make mistakes.

With great acting, action, comedy and a mystery to top all off.

Re-watchable: Yes.

Smudge's Mark

Smudge's Mark Smudge's Mark by Claudia Osmond

Review: I don’t know how to describe Smudge’s Mark. At first it seems like a dark and spooky mystery, then shifting into the fantasy genre. Don’t worry the fantasy element is introduces early on. The story does start out creepy as well.

The 13th Warrior movie review

Genre: Action, historical fiction

Year of Release: 1990

Rated: R for violence, gore, and language

Director: John McTiernan

Summary: A man, having fallen in love with the wrong woman, is sent by the sultan himself on a diplomatic mission to a distant land as an ambassador. Stopping at a trading post. Tale are pass around about strange creatures terrorizing a Viking village.

Review: Based off the book title Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton. A loosely retelling of Beowulf that play with the consent of what could have made the Beowulf story.

I like the action and the historical aspect.  Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan (play by Antonio Banderas) going off with Viking warriors, complete strangers to slay some monsters. Sounds similar to the Hobbit.

There is a bit of gore but, it not uses for "shock value". The fights are realistic, there messy and gory. What do you expect? A Princess Bride fencing duel. Someone had said this movie is for men. As a women I enjoy this movie. I didn't like the gore but, I did like the historical aspect. Another women that like this movie is my mom. She the one that recommended The 13th Warrior.

Re-Watchable: Maybe or maybe not.

The Hole in the Ground movie review

Genre: Thriller, horror

Released: 2019

Rated: R for violence...? *

Director: Nicholas McCarthy

Summary: A mother, Sarah and her son, Chris move out to a house in the country to escape a abused relationship. One night the Chris got mad and run out to the woods. Sarah runs after him and they find this hole in the ground. Soon Chris is acting strange and Sarah assumes he not her son.

Thoughts: I like the relationship between the mother and son. Giving tension that her son may not be her son. At first Chris behavior is a little bit different, making you question if this all in Sarah's head or not.

I not going to spoil what happens here but, at the end there were some creatures that weren't explain to well of what they are. Other than that, this is pretty good. There enough sock value to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Rate: 6/10

*For the rating I don't know what makes this R rated. I didn't catch any cuss words or anything unappropriated for young viewers. This is an Irish film, so maybe their standards of rating is different. I would give this movie a PG-13.
