Series: book 3 of The Secret series
Genre: Mystery, Adventure, Secret Society
Age: MG
POV: 3rd – narrated by P. Bosch
Summary: The
Midnight sun is at it again this time they are looking for the tuning fork. A
fork that can make anything taste whatever you want it to be, as long as you
taste it before. Cass, Max-Ernest, and Yo-Yoji much stop them before there
death by chocolate.
Review: Despite what the title says this book is
good. At chapter eleven I switch to audio book and finish it in one day. I like
how there major thing that change to fit the audio book. Like for chapter 20
instead of invisible ink, there a radio broadcast that all staticky. The audio
book is narrated by a full cast with bring out the characters and jokes.
The downsizes to audio is I become more aware of the writing quality. Usually I
can give a pass if the characters and story are engaging but, the writing
doesn’t flow right. It might be the just the narrator.
Another thing I didn’t like is Max-Ernest being allergic to everything feel
like a plot device for this book.
Points:
Characters: 5/5
Plot: 3/5 – For a while the plot felt like it went nowhere. The Midnight
sun was testing chocolate for what? So, they can get Cass to reveal the secret.
Audio: 4/5
Total: 12/20 = 3 stars
