I Know What You Did Last Summer

I Know What You Did Last Summer I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan

Read: Non-spoiler review

Author: Lois Duncan

Gene: Mystery, Thriller

Age: YA

POV: 3rd person

Summary: They made a pact never to talk about it again. And they didn’t until the note. One short sentence is enough to shatter their lives. Someone knows what they did and that someone wants revenge.

Review: This is a plot driven instances book even those I finger it out who behind it all way before the end of the book. Mysteries have always been easy for me to solve, but I still enjoy reading them. All the clues came together…well most of the clues.

*Spoiler hidden*
Bud and Collie being the same person didn’t click well with me. Maybe I miss something.

The four main characters used to be friends and since the account they have grown apart. Their relationship towards each other has become shaky. I like how the feeling of guilt is shown in this story so well. The messages face up to your guilt and don’t run from it, is the undertone of the story.

The change in point of views between the four main characters is fine but, then it goes to someone else. Ruining the flow of the story.

Points:

Characters: 4/5

Writing: 4/5

Plot: 5/5

Total: 13/20

This was an okay mystery. I never seen the movie and heard that it pretty good.

Lois Duncan’s books have gotten a reprint in an updated version and reviews have say that it makes the plot inconsistent. My edition is not an updated version. I now know to hold on to my copy.
