Top ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Artsy Reader Girl. This weeks topic is last week's topic: Titles That Would Make Good Band Names with a twist. Instead I going to do a list of books that feature music.
1. The Phantom of the Opera
Author: Gaston Leroux
I got to see the perfumes for my sixteenth birthday. Phantom of the Opera is one of my two favorite musicals the other one being Moulin Rouge.
2. Wintersong
Author: S. Jae Jones
I like how the music is describe in the book and how much effort is put into the history of classical music is places inside the story.
3. Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes does two of my favorite things, solves mysteries and plays the violin. Its one of the reason why I like Sherlock Holmes.

4. The Musician's Daughter
Author: Susanne Dunlap
The violin on the cover is what catch my attention and brought the book.

5. King Dork
Author: Frank Portman
Takes places in the 90s about this teen that in a rock band with his friend and they keep changing the name of the band. Oh...this book pokes fun at Catcher in the Rye.

Author: Chris McCoy
One of the most hilarious books on this list. It has a bit of everything, teenage prom drama, rock'n roll, and alien adduction.
7. Black Dogs
Author: Jason Buhrmester
8. Love is a Mix Tape
Author: Rob Sheffield
I don't really read memoirs but, I will give this one a try.
I like your take on the list, after recently reading The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu I've been wondering whether or not I should be reading more books with music in them!

What a nice list. :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
Wintersong is a great band name. I think I've listened to an album with that title before.
ReplyDelete"this book pokes fun at Catcher in the Rye" -- oh boy, does it! In fact, I'm pretty sure that's how it got 4 stars out of me vs. 3, the sweet sweet vindication of high school me's book wrath. I can't believe I forgot about that until you reminded me.
ReplyDeleteAlso I'm intrigued by your description of Wintersong.
Wintersong is a great band name! It makes me think Wintersleep, an indie rock band I really like :)
ReplyDeleteI had a lot of fun with this week's prompt. Here's my post for Top Ten Tuesday!
