Snowpiercer: movie review

Snowpiercer Poster
Genre: Action, Drama, Sci-fic
Rated: R

Year of Release: 2013

Director:  Bong Joon Ho

Summary: In a future where a failed climate-change experiment has killed all life except for the lucky few who boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, a new class system emerges.

Review: The idea is quite far to fetch but, they took it and ran with it. It works out pretty well. Once the action starts it keeps going. The theme is about class and how those at the back of the train are the poor folk. They are mistreated and taken avenges of. Everyone at the beginning of the train is the elicits and they make up the rules.

The sci-fi element is cool. The story follows the format where the world and the rules are set up. Then the dangers are introduced subtly at first then gradually rise as the story moves forward. That way when a character dies there more of an impact.

Now to rant about the logic of this world. If the world ever freezes over (not likely) don't place all of the remaining humanity on one train. No way is the whole Earth going to freeze over. Yes, there have been ice ages but, those happen in the northern hemisphere. Long as the Earth is tilted on its axes and revolving around the sun, there will be a normal change in climate call season.

The idea is illogical but, the action is cool, and they work.
