Review: I don't know what to think about this movie but, I'm going to try to interpret what I can. This movie is more meaning the story. About the first half of the film, it’s a straight story about a woman going with her boyfriend to see his parents for the first time. Seen comprehensible until the weird stuff that is subtle at first begins to pick up. After they leave the parents’ house the philosophical meaning starts to snowball downhill. Okay, what is the whole meaning of this film?

My take on it is it’s about our lives move through time and our anxiety towards how we spin our lives. The very concept of time is to quit mind bogging. I will explain this as best I can. The whole movie is narrated by the main character Yvonne, so you get her deep inner thoughts throughout the movie. Since those thoughts are so personal that you on Yvonne train of thought that bring questions that any young person has come across like: What do I do with my life? What am I'm doing here? Do I really want to stay with him? This goes along with Yvonne visiting her boyfriend's parents and she keeps changing her professes she is studying in school.

I would like to point out the meaning of the snowstorm. Offend in literature or filmmaking snowstorms symbolize isolation and being a trap. When Yvonne and her boyfriend are driving in the snowstorm. This shows how people came into your life and how you isolate yourself with them in terms of getting to know them and the conversation with them unlike what you have with strangers passing by on the streets.

When they stop at the ice cream shop it symbolizes how we miss an opportunity in helping people when they are potentially in danger. As for high school, it is for most people it’s nostalgic for them to think of high school as a bygone era in their youth. Circle through to how we look back on our lives throughout time.

This is the best on interpreting I'm Thinking of Ending Things. Do I fully understand it? No. I sure if I watch this a second time around, I might change some of my views and devolve new ones.

I don't think anyone will be able to on the first time watching this. From what I see on the internet it seems like people full under two camps. Those people that actually love this movie see what this movie is going for and want to understand it. Then their people actually are frustrated by it, therefore, hating it.

I'm sure as years go by there will be more of an overlap.

As for me, I don't love this movie, nor do I hate it. I'm still a bit baffled by it. I do see and appreciate where it’s going in terms of its themes and massages. I have my fair share of weird movies. Since my teen years, my mom has introduced me to odd and offbeat movies so I'm not too surprised by this movie.
